Λεμεσός 1994. Σ ’ένα μπαρ με προσεγγίζει ένας ψηλός, ευγενικός, καλομίλητος άντρας, για να χορέψω στη νέα του χοροθεατρική δουλειά… το ΜΗΔΕΙ! Είπα αμέσως ναι. Κυριάκος Σταυρινός το όνομα του. Έβλεπε την ζωή μέσα από τα ματιά μικρού παιδιού, με ενθουσιασμό… με λαχτάρα… Ήταν ακροβάτης στην ζωή και σαν καλλιτέχνης.  Όλα ή τίποτα!  Είχε να μοιραστεί πολλά.  Εγώ μόλις 22 χρονών, προσπαθούσα μέσα από την χορογραφική του δουλειά να βιώσω τα βιώματα του…. Κοιτάζοντας πίσω τώρα, μετά από 25 χρονιά είναι όλα πλέον κατανοητά.

Ρούλα Κλεοβούλου

Η Ρούλα Κλεοβούλου γεννήθηκε στη Λεμεσό το 1971.

Σπούδασε στο “The School of the Toronto Dance Theater” στον Καναδά, όπου διδάχτηκε την τεχνική της Martha Graham και χορογραφία. Στον Καναδά είχε την ευκαιρία να δουλέψει με μερικούς από τους πρωτοπόρους του σύγχρονου χορού όπως τη Trish Beatty και τον David Earle, που ήταν και ιδρυτές του “The Toronto Dance Theater”. Από το 1994 στη Κύπρο, έχει συνεργαστεί με πολλούς χορογράφους, χορευτές, σκηνοθέτες και ηθοποιούς, δημιουργώντας έργα που μπορούν να θεωρηθούν πρωτοποριακά για την μικρή χορευτική κοινότητα της Κύπρου. Έχει συνεργαστεί με το θέατρο της Λεμεσού( ΕΘΑΛ) σαν χορογράφος, ηθοποιός, και βοηθός σκηνοθέτη. Σαν χορογράφος έχει επίσης συνεργαστεί με τον Θ.Ο.Κ στο έργο «Αικατερίνη Κορνάρο» σε σκηνοθεσία Φώτου Φωτιάδη. Το 1999 ιδρύει το Χοροθέατρο Ομάδα Πέντε με την Χλόη Μελίδου. Το Χοροθέατρο Ομάδα Πέντε που έχει ανεβάσει μέχρι σήμερα 35 έργα, είναι ομάδα με τακτικές συμμετοχές στην Πλατφόρμα Χορού, στο Καλοκαιρινό Φεστιβάλ Σύγχρονου Χορού της Νέας Κίνησης Ομάδων Χορού, Χορευτών και Χορογράφων Κύπρου, με συμμετοχές στο Ευρωπαϊκό Φεστιβάλ, συμμετοχές σε φεστιβάλ στο εξωτερικό και με ανεξάρτητες παραγωγές. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της Νέας Κίνησης Ομάδων Χορού, Χορευτών και Χορογράφων Κύπρου (2004) και ιδρυτικό μέλος της Στέγης Σύγχρονου Χορού Λεμεσού (2007).

Limassol 1994. At a bar, I am approached by a tall, polite, well-spoken man. I was asked to dance in his new dance-theater piece … MIDEI! I said yes immediately. Kyriakos Stavrinos was his name. He looked at life through the eyes of a young child, with excitement … with longing … He was an acrobat in life and as an artist.  All or nothing! He had a lot to share. I was only 22 years old, trying to live his experiences through his choreographic work…. Looking back now, 25 years later, everything is now understandable.

Roula Kleovoulou was born in Limassol in 1971. She studied at The School of the Toronto Dance Theater in Canada, where she was taught the Martha Graham technique and choreography. In Canada she had the opportunity to work with some of the pioneers of contemporary dance such as Trish Beatty and David Earle, who were also founders of The Toronto Dance Theater. Since 1994 in Cyprus, he has collaborated with many choreographers, dancers, directors and actors, creating works that can be considered pioneering for the small dance community of Cyprus. She has worked with the Limassol Theater (ETHAL) as a choreographer, actress, and assistant director. As a choreographer she has also collaborated with THOK with the work “Katerina Kornaro” directed by Fotos Fotiadis. In 1999 she founded the Dance Company Chorotheatro Omada Pende with Chloe Melidou. Chorotheatro Omada Pende which has so far created 35 projects, is a dance company with regular participation in the Cyprus Dance Platform and the Nea Kinisi Summer Dance Festival. It has also participated in the European Dance Festival, festivals abroad and independent productions. She is a founding member of the Nea Kinisi for Dance Companies, Choreographers and Dancers Cyprus (2004) and one of the founding member of the Dance House Lemesos (2007).
