In his new work THIRAMA (English transl. Prey), Alexis Vassiliou continues the artistic research he began with the short film ΕΓΚΑΤΑ (2020) and the performance ΣΑΚΡΑ (2022). Once again, he constructs a rhythmic, acoustic, and bodily ritual that explores the origins of language, emotions, and the human experience.
Building on the foundation of his previous works, which engaged with breath, voice, and movement through fragmented and ritualistic structures, THIRAMA shifts focus toward the
embodiment of instinct and the tension between vulnerability and survival. Here, the body becomes both hunter and hunted—a site of primal urges, raw physicality, and the cyclical struggle between submission and resistance. Through choreographic precision, the work generates a visceral experience of a heightened state of presence.
The performance unfolds live on stage, with performers appearing fully nude and in close proximity to the audience throughout the duration.
