Τhe working group of Dear Festival and Friends shares in an open discussion their
working methods and the ways in which the performances shaped their reflections
and writing.

The context program “Dear festival and friends…” curated and
facilitated by Rodia Vombolou (dance dramaturg, PhD researcher) and Betina
Panagiotara (dance theorist, dramaturg) proposes the activation of critical thinking
and creative writing around the performances of Open House Festival 2024. With
letter writing as a key working practice, the programme aims to critically reflect on the
performances and provide feedback to both the festival and its participants.

The working group follows the festival and meets daily to discuss and write down in the
form of letters the thoughts/reactions motivated by the performances. These texts are
then published and shared online and in print as a way of reframing the curatorial
gaze of the festival.
