Ελευθερία Σωκράτους / Eleftheria Socratous

To soundtrack “breaking news” χρησιμοποιείται στο έργο αυτό όπως και στα μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης στην αποκοπή της ροής του κανονικού προγράμματος. Επίσης η φράση αυτή εφαρμόζεται κυριολεκτικά  μέσω των δράσεων, αφού όλες οι δράσεις συντείνουν στην προσπάθεια αποσύνθεσης της δομής των ειδήσεων αλλά και των ιδεολογιών που κρύβονται πίσω από αυτές.  Οι σωματικές ιδέες κατανόησης και αποσύνθεσης των ειδήσεων τις οποίες εξέλιξε η Ελευθερία Σωκράτους τους τελευταίους μήνες στο καλλιτεχνικό residency “Μoving the New” ανοίχτηκαν και διερευνήθηκαν εκ νέου από ένα γκρουπ ατόμων μεικτών ικανοτήτων στο σύντομο χρονικό πλαίσιο των οκτώ συναντήσεων. Αυτή η παρουσίαση δείχνει επιλεγμένα στοιχεία της ομαδικής έρευνας.

Η Ελευθερία σπούδασε ειδική αγωγή στο Würzburg, και  θεραπευτική χοροδιδασκαλία στο Μόναχο. Πάντρεψε αυτά τα δύο με μια έρευνα που οδήγησε σε μια διπλωματική εργασία (Magister thesis) με τίτλο «Ταυτότητα για άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες μέσω δημιουργικού χορού». Έχει επίσης αποφοιτήσει από το UDK (Πανεπιστήμιο Τεχνών του Βερολίνου) στο πρόγραμμα σπουδών «Δημιουργία χορού στις τέχνες και την εκπαίδευση» και στη συνέχεια απέκτησε πιστοποιητικό διδασκαλίας στη μέθοδο «Danceabilty». Στο Βερολίνο έχει διδάξει χορό σε σχολεία και ιδρύματα και έχει δουλέψει πάνω σε διάφορα κοινοτικά και κοινωνικά- καλλιτεχνικά πρότζεκτ. Τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια έχει εγκατασταθεί στη Λεμεσό, όπου εργάζεται κυρίως ως καλλιτέχνης και ως παιδαγωγός χορού για άτομα με μεικτές ικανότητες.

The soundtrack ‘breaking news”, is been used in this piece the same way as it’s been used in the media, which is to break the normal program flow. The phrase “breaking use” has a second role in this piece though as it refers to the try to literally to dismantle (break) the structure of the news reports and the ideologies which are hidden behind them. The somatic ideas of understanding and dismantling the news which where developed by Eleftheria Socratous during her artistic residency “Moving the New” were opened and reexamined by a mixed-ability group in the short time frame of 8 meetings. This is a sharing of a compilation of chosen aspects of the group research.

Eleftheria studied special education in the Würzburg, and therapeutic dance pedagogy in Munich. She has combined those two with a research that lead to a magister thesis on “Identity work for people with special needs through creative dance”. She has also absolved the study program “Creating dance in arts and education.” in the UDK (University of arts of Berlin) and later on gained a teacher certificate in “Danceabilty” method. In Berlin she has been teaching dance in schools and institutions and has various community-social artistic projects. The past three years she has established her work in Limassol, where she is mainly working as a performer and as an inclusive dance pedagogue.
