How legitimate are our experiences and sensations? Many human feelings or states are “forbidden”, not allowed to be shown. Art can be their alibi. On the altar of art you can do things that are forbidden in real life. Thus, art is a game, an alibi of freedom. The abstract dance of Adrienn Hód reaches pronounced words. The precisely choreographed situations show up in an abstract glamorous revue. A norm-free ceremony, a communal confession with four open and naughty revue-girls showing their naked and raw stories. magic of joy and pain, a ritual bath in limelight, rich and loud stories of passion, a march towards ecstasy, electro and classical burlesque. Hodworks was founded in 2007 by choreographer Adrienn Hód, a unique and innovative creator of the Budapest contemporary dance scene. Three of Hodworks’ creations have been selected by Aerowaves European Dance Network (Basse danse – 2012, Dawn – 2014, Conditions of Being a Mortal – 2015). Today, Hodworks is one of the most touring companies of the Hungarian independent dance scene, often participating in both festivals and platforms.
